March 28, 2007 Wednesday

* The Bubble echo was done and has determined that the pulmonary complexity due to liver disease
is not a factor for Liam yet. This is good and bad; good, because we
don't want Liam to have more struggles than he already has, but bad, because this might have been an element that the doctors could have used to get Liam more points on the transplant list.

* Liam is now on room air - no oxygen and he is also up to his full g-tube feeds without neausea. (yeah!)

* Seattle Doctors have
given us the green light to go home, understanding that Liam will be on
home IV therapy for a total of 2 weeks (11 more days). There seems to
be a slight glitch from the Kaiser Transplant coordinators end - rather
than get into it, just know that we ARE on top of it!

* After speaking with Dr. Watanabe, or transplant specialist at Kaiser LA, the process of getting Liam home is a little more complicated. He needs to speak with Dr. Morell to get her to agree to take over Liam's care upon our return.

I did share with him that Dr. Wojtczak is handling Liam's CF care
through Kaiser and if he can not reach Dr. Morell, he will call Dr. Wojtczak
tomorrow. In the meantime, at least Liam is comfortable :-)
